The Honorable Geoffrey A. Gaither is assigned to the Marion County Family Division Court in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was formerly the Senior Magistrate at Juvenile Court prior to his judicial appointment in 2020. Judge Gaither’s jurisdiction includes delinquencies, child dependencies, paternities, guardianships, adoptions, child support, custody cases, divorces, protective orders and dual status cases.
Judge Gaither is a former adjunct professor at IUPUI and Martin University. He also created the “Is Indianapolis Another Ferguson?” forum. Judge Gaither developed an on-going workshop entitled The Young Women’s Empowerment Conference and the Young Men’s Empowerment Conference benefitting systems involved youth. Judge Gaither was the catalyst for the Indy Mentoring Network which is a collaboration of city wide mentoring groups coming together for a common purpose. Judge Gaither has hosted the 100 Black Men of Indianapolis’ Beautillion Militaire “Know Your Legal Rights” session.
Judge Gaither earned his Bachelor of Urban Planning degree from the University of Cincinnati and then later received his Juris Doctor degree with honors from Howard University School of Law.
