Judge Charles Miller took the bench in April of 2023. Prior to that, he served as Vice-Chair of the Indiana Parole Board and was formerly a supervisor in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
A graduate of the University of Southern Indiana and Robert H. McKinney Indiana School of Law-Indianapolis, Judge Miller is extensively involved in the legal community, having served on the Board of Governors for the Indiana State Bar Association, as well as President of its Criminal Justice Section. He is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Marion County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
A strong believer in neighborhood and community involvement, his other volunteer work includes serving the Historic Irvington Halloween Festival (including two years as its chairperson), the Irvington Community Council, Irvington Garden Club, the Irvington Historic Landmarks Board and the Indiana State Fair. He also currently serves on the Board of the Dove Recovery House for Women, which provides treatment and transitional housing for women struggling with substance abuse. He lives on the Eastside of Indianapolis and enjoys hiking, gardening, and homebrewing.
